Dru Phillips played a role in the elementary corner of the Nickel in the rising season last year, and he loved a pass, and recorded 68 percent of the defensive shots, and Giden Daniels dismissed and collected seven losing games.

All it was while it was “a kind of blind”.

Philips underwent LASIK surgery in this season to make his life easier – he does not like to wear contacts – and he noticed an improvement in tracking the ball and the ability to “attack more” in the training camp after the procedure that took about 15 minutes.

“Seeing the ball in the air was one of my biggest problems,” said Philips after practicing the giants on Thursday. “This returns to a long time, but especially this camp … I can only see the ball, so it helps me here and in external life, like driving and things. It makes it much easier.”

It was published about the surgery in Teaneck, the Cornea & Laser Eye Institute in May, and wrote on X that “one of the best decisions I made ever” and added a picture of himself with Dr. Stephen Greencity with giant football.

Philips said that he spoke with “people on the upper floor” about his eyesight before formulating the giants in the third round, adding that they were the only team in the Predraft process, “You cannot see it?”

He did not mention this during his group seasons in Kentucky, and Philips was “blind only” at the time, as he laughing.

Philips said: “It is one of those things that I am happy because (the giants) indicated that I may still have not got it if no one said,” but that helped me on a daily basis. ”

During a training camp for the giants specified by the change (with the new arrivals in Bolson Adibo and Holland Holland) and a possible change (Dunte Banix-Dal Riv’s competition at the second pillar), Philips was fixed in the secondary stage.

He no longer “plays with my head on fire” as it was at this time last year and could feel what will happen now instead of guessing.

Philips knows that he was part of the defense communication issue in 2024 and tried to help reform this through experience – and perhaps be able to see the ball better will lead to tangible improvements as well.

“You are part of the defense defense, and sometimes, the back of the back,” said coach Brian Dapole. “It is difficult, but I say that his communication and operation of how to do things – and he has taken a good step, and we need it.”
