Fight Beterbiev with Dean Nicholson on the Benavidez-Yarde card on November 7th

Artur Beterbiev fights on David Benavidez vs Anthony Yarde’s subcook against Dean Nicholson (22-1, 8 Kos) on the IV Circle ‘Champions Night’ in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Beterbiev (21-1, 20 kos) wanted to fight Dmitry Bivol in trilogy, but it doesn’t happen at the moment. Choosing the native of Alabama, Nicholson, 34, is a sweeping substitute option.
Nicholson has one loss on his resume, hitting out in the third round against Nigeria Efobor Apochi in April 2021. It is impossible to know whether or not Nicholson has improved because his opposition has been so bad. He has won his last eight fights, beating five of them.
We do not know why Artur and his team agreed to this guy rather than one of the talented competitors. The on-site competitors would likely have expected a lot of money to fight against the former lightweight heavyweight champion, Beterbiev, 40, due to the high risk involved.
Beterbiev suffered his first career earlier this year on February 22nd, losing a decision of a majority of 12 rounds for Bivol in Riyadh. Although Bivol looked very good in pieces, Beterbiev was early dominated by weight and found it in poor trouble in the 12th. The fighting should have scored a draw, but the judges went with the Bivol promoted by Eddie Hearn.
For Beterebiev, it must be strange that he was fighting on Benavidez-Yarde’s subcarden rather than the main event. It shows how far a fighter can slip when they suffer a loss.
It is unknown which job will be the Beterbiev-Nichoslon fighting on the card. In order for him to be buried under the fighting of others, that would be a bitter pill for Artur to swallow. Not only did he lose a controversial decision in his last fight, but now his fighting is placed near the bottom of the mains.
