Wisconsin is a little bit over Minnesota, Iowa in the poll

Earlier this summer, we informed us that “The nation believes that Minnesota, Yeskonsen and Iowa” is equally good. “

guess what? New data on the same topic arrived!

Another seller provides free free survey and representatives at the national level at the annual conference of this year from the American Association for Public Opinion Research, EpsosHe gave us the opportunity to secrete the previous survey that you conducted Verasight.

Systemically, this allows us to compare the results that do not use a different sample, but also using different questions format. With Verasight, we sent a face to one face “Which country is better?” a question. With IPSOS, we have presented a series of questions that are asked to respond to the favorable evaluation of each state.

The results this time? As Minnesotan, it hurts me to tell Wisconsin a slight feature.

I will quickly add that there is more than one way to analyze the preference data. Looking at the error margin +/- 3.1 percent associated with these survey results, the difference between states is not great. But as head of a non -party data store, I must report the facts that stand: the classification of the net preference in Wisconsin is +13 per cent, compared to +9 percent of Minnesota and +5 per cent.

In fact, Minnesota enjoys the highest preference for the three states: 28 percent have a positive opinion in Minnesota (9 percent very favorable and 19 percent favorable), compared to 26 percent in favor of Wisconsin and 20 percent in Iowa.

The problem is that Minnesota also has the highest uncomfortable classification of three: 19 percent compared to 15 percent for Iowa and 13 percent in favor of Wisconsin.

Sports, which leaves Minnesota with a decrease in pure preference (28 percent – 19 percent = 9 percent) from Wisconsin.

As a set of species, we also asked the respondents to evaluate the country’s largest state, California (39.4 million people). This is much larger and known condition that has favorable and non -favorable classifications, 38.4 percent and 38.5 percent, respectively, from any of the three western countries. Thus, the classification of pure preference in California is barely negative: -0.1 per cent.

Who (D) loves us?

Among the men, the net net preference in Wisconsin (+16 %) is higher than Minnesota (+6 per cent) and much higher than California (-8 %). Women, on the other hand, give relatively similar classifications in all fields except for a clear favorable in Iowa.

Wisconsin, Minnesota and California all have a similar favorable classification among young adults – only in Iowa has a negative classification on the net preference between those between the ages of 18 and 34 years. In the end, “wisdom” is a spectrum of life, things reflect a little: Iowa has the strongest rating of the network between those 65 years old and the elderly, although Wissconin is statistically connected.

Rackedly, our analysis is limited to three groups:

  • Non -Latin eggs prefer Wescons. Their net classification of California is negative.

  • Non -Latin black Americans and Americans of Spanish California prefer. The size of the smaller sample between these two groups leaves the upper three countries in the western highly linked, but less than California.

At the regional level, we see that the state of Iowa, Mainisota and Yistsens are particularly classified by their colleagues in Gastras. California has the upper hand scheduled when classified by those in the West. Those in the northeast prefer Wesconsen and California, on the network, either on Minnesota or Iowa. It seems that those in the south have special beef with California – they love any other states better.

Preference

The final mutual is the real Kicker. I was hoping that geographical preference would reflect things like natural beauty, cultural vitality and the hospitality of the inhabitants of each state. However, as with many things these days, political affiliations seem to color our appreciation for each state.

California has the most attractive classifications of the four states: as a group, the Republicans seem to crowd the state, while it was the most preferred country among Democrats.

Minnesota is the most polarized. It is clear that the land of 10,000 lakes underwater among Republicans. But very prosperous between Democrats.

Political polarization was turned in Iowa, which is the favorite of the Republicans. The only country with a net classification of negative preference among Democrats.

Wisconsin is the only country that gets positive degrees of net preference from both Republicans and Democrats. Perhaps the secret of the general success of the state is its appeal from the two parties.

Perhaps there is a lesson there somewhere for all of us.

Or maybe it is cheese.
